The Missing 24 Hours NASA Could Not Account For

NASA & THE BIBLE

Thought this was pretty amazing and interesting! For all the scientists out there, and for all the students who have a hard time convincing these people regarding the truth of the Bible, here's something that shows God's awesome creation, and that He is still in control.

Did you know that the space program is busy proving that what has been called 'myth' in the Bible is true?

Mr. Harold Hill, President of the Curtis Engine Company in Baltimore, Maryland, and a consultant in the space program, relates the following development.

'I think one of the most amazing things that God has done for us today happened recently to our astronauts and space scientists at Green Belt, Maryland.

They were checking out where the positions of the sun, moon, and planets would be 100 years and 1,000 years from now. We have to know this so we won't send up a satellite and have it bump into something later on in its orbits.

We have to lay out the orbits in terms of the life of the satellite and where the planets will be so the whole thing will not bog down.

They ran the computer measurement back and forth over the centuries, and it came to a halt. The computer stopped and put up a red signal, which meant that there was something wrong with either the information fed into it or with the results as compared to the standards.

They called in the service department to check it out, and they said, 'What's wrong?' Well, they found there is a day missing in space in elapsed time.

They scratched their heads and tore their hair out. There was no answer.

Finally a Christian man on the team said, 'You know, one time I was in Sunday School, and they talked about the sun standing still.' While they didn't believe him, they didn't have an answer either, so they said, 'Show us. '

He got a Bible and went to the book of Joshua where they found a pretty ridiculous statement for any one with 'common sense.' There they found the Lord saying to Joshua,

'Fear them not, I have delivered them into thy hand; there shall not a man of them stand before Thee.'

Joshua was concerned because he was surrounded by the enemy! And if darkness fell, they would overpower them. So Joshua asked the Lord to make the sun stand still! That's right... 'The sun stood still and the moon stayed and lasted not to go down about a whole day!'

(Joshua 10:12-13)

The astronauts and scientists said, there is the missing day! They checked the computers going back into the time it was written and found it was close but not close enough. The elapsed time that was missing back in Joshua's day was 23 hours and 20 minutes, not a whole day.

They read the Bible, and there it was about [approximately] a day. These little words in the Bible are important, but they were still in trouble because if you cannot account for 40 minutes, you'll still be in trouble 1000 years from now...

Forty minutes had to be found because it can be multiplied many times over in orbits. As the Christian employee thought about it, he remembered somewhere in the Bible where it said the sun went BACKWARDS.

The scientists told him he was out of his mind, but they got out the Book and read these words in 2 Kings that told of the following story: Hezekiah, on his death bed, was visited by the prophet Isaiah who told him that he was not going to die. Hezekiah asked for a sign as proof. Isaiah said, 'Do you want the sun to go ahead 10 degrees?'

Hezekiah said, 'It is nothing for the sun to go ahead 10 degrees, but let the shadow return backward 10 degrees.' Isaiah spoke to the Lord, and the Lord brought the shadow ten degrees BACKWARD! Ten degrees is exactly 40 minutes!'

Twenty-three hours and 20 minutes in Joshua, plus 40 minutes in Second Kings make the missing day in the universe! Isn't it amazing?

Thanks a lot David.

In fact currently I am writing something about Creation as given in Genesis vs Darwin's Evolution, and also about the mysteries of life (what exactly is it), and also about the first miracle of Jesus Christ from the eyes as a scientist as I know it. They are a summary of what I wrote and published in the Newsletter of the Astronomical Society of Malaysia on January 1980. It was 58 pages long.

But even with the summary I am currently writing, they are still very long articles.

The moment I finish I may share this out only for those who request for it. It is no use spending so much time and effort for those who just delete it. They don't even acknowledge or thank you the least. So I shall not send it to them.

A lot of things we do not know. Thanks again for your article. I have not read it yet.

Dear Dr. JB LIM

I am eagerly awaiting your thesis on Genesis Vs Theory of Evolution and I sincerely hope I am one of the previleged few recepients!

My humble guess is that you will be attempting what many has done before you: ie The Missing link between Genesis and Evolution. The impact will be astronomical! Congratulations in advance.

Being a little bit inquisitive, a quick google on THE MISSING 24 HOURS produce 588000 stories of which I selected 4 which I think are the most exciting as the story submitted by Pastor David is too simplistic in nature.

It is clear to me that this Nasa story of Joshua and Hezekiah is a complete hoax.

For those who understand comuter programming will know that the computer cannot print out error message unless the software allows for it.

In technical term this is called "throwing exceptions". The programming software in 1970 is too primitive to have these features.

Also the computer is a dumb machine unless you put into it the data for it to compute. To compute this missing Joshua time, you need the present day data and the the data of planetary positions before Joshua's battle for the computer to compute. You cannot get this data accurately. The article did suggest solar eclipse records. But was the record done? Was the data accurate at 2500 BC? Who is keeping the record before Joshua's time?

To prove my point, you can do this same calculation again as NASA did in 1970 with today's simple normal Core 2 desk top computer.

Why nobody has done it? Why don’t you do it?

The simple reason is because the whole story of NASA's finding is a total hoax and is not true. You cannot get the data.

Also the story of the earth standstill 24 hrs and rotate again cannot be true. You need to allow for angular deccelaration and accelaration.

Why?

1. Acceleration and deccelaration must fullfill law of physics. There must be external forces. Did God use his hands?

2. What was the position of the sun when it was at standstill? Can I say 10 degree above the horizon? The temperature on earth with the sun shinning 24 hours will be so hot that all plants and animals on earth facing it (North and South America) will be scorched dead. People in China, Russia and Australia will be frozen to death. Did Chinese record show people die wholesale at 2500 BC. Did God make the Earth to maintain the same temperature? No increase of heat and cold despite sun shinning 24 hrs on one side? Again it goes against the law of physics. The climate of hot searing wind and possibly boiling ocean waves will be devasting.

3. When the earth accelarated again to rotate, then when it came to the present constant speed of rotation of 24 hrs per day, the acceleration force must suddenly became zero. Did God remove his hand at this point?

So many unknowns.

If you understand Occam's razor, then you will be more likely to understand why all this is untrue.

Dear all,

There was no date given in the Bible to tell us exactly when ‘the sun stood still and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.’ (Joshua 10:13).

No mention of the date of this event was given in the above verse.

Without this vital information on the date, there is no way NASA scientists could have matched a missing date in their computer and claimed that this was the date when the sun stood still for Joshua to finish the battle. It was just an assumption that it was that date? It needs two hands to clap figuratively speaking. We cannot assume.

Moreover, I have a very old computer program ‘Dance of the Stars’ which can calculate back into time up to 2500 BC and 5000 years forward into the future all the celestial events taken place and will take place pertaining to the movements and positions of the Sun, Moon, planets, stars and constellations as depicted in ancient and future skies.

The program shows how the celestial objects would look like, and their relative positions in the sky, and to one another, thousands of years into the past, and thousands of years into the future.

This program worked very well without any trouble of anything missing day in ancient skies. Unfortunately this program cannot calculate anything before 2500 BC, and I do not think Joshua’s account dated back earlier than that because Noah lived far earlier than Joshua. Fragments of what is believed to be Noah’s Ark on Mt. Ararat was dated back to 4800 BC only using radio carbon dating techniques.

Unless we are sure of the date, there is no way for any person to assume what NASA scientists found to be missing was that day when ‘the sun stood still’? We are just being presumptive that’s all.

A scientist with scientific credibility and professional ethics normally do not assume and be quick to make wild claims without proper data – evidenced-based data, based on intensive studies and research. That’s the hallmark of being a scientist, and being a NASA scientist too. He will make a laughing stork of himself to the scientific community if he assumes like that?

That does not mean there is untruth in the Bible. On the contrary, nothing is impossible with God, and what is recorded in the Bible is inspired writing. I do not doubt this.

The only thing we do not know is the actual date of the event because this is not given or recorded in the Bible. This is the same as we do not know the exact date of the birth of Jesus Christ. The world only make 25 December as symbolic of Jesus birth. We all know that.
