My third son Wai Yu and his wife Jia-mei flew back to
Malaysia from Taiwan to celebrate this coming Chinese New Year (CNY) early
morning (reaching home at 6.15am) on Sunday, 11/02/2018.
We had a Pre-CNY reunion dinner with my youngest brother
Patrick and youngest sister Winnie and her husband, and all my four children
and Jia-mei at Legend Seafood Restaurant (品味海鲜饭店), Bandar
Mahkota Cheras at 6.15pm of 11/02/2018.
The dishes included tilapia Nyonya-style (金凤鱼, RM62),
chicken (捞鸡, RM76), pork chops (两味猪扒, RM40),
two-flavoured beancurd (两味豆腐, RM30), prawn taufu (虾松柱豆腐, RM30), omelet (虾仁蛋, RM18), together with steamed
rice and drinks totaling exactly RM300.
After dinner, we adjourned to our house for chit-chat.

As Wai Yu needed to renew his driving license which has
expired in July last year and I also wanted to extend mine, we decided to go to
JPJ at UTC, Puduraya in the morning of Monday, 12/02/2018.
After breakfast at a coffee shop near Garden Park Apartment
of BSL, Soh Ai, Wai Yu, Jia-mei and I left home at 9.10 am to board a MRT
shuttle bus at 9.20am to Bukit Dukung MRT station. We took a MRT train at 9.40am reaching Pasar
Seni MRT station at 10.20am.
We walked to UTC, Puduraya and arrived at JPJ office on the
2nd floor at 10.45am. There
were only a couple of customers and 3 counters were opened. Both Wai Yu and I got our driving licenses
renewed 5 and 3 years respectively and collected our new licenses within 10
minutes!
We then proceeded to Jalan Sultan where I bought from Miniso
(Japan) a digital tempered glass scale (RM50) for myself, shoulder bag (RM39.90),
women’s handbag (RM29.90) and lip balm sphere (RM10) as my CNY gifts for
Jia-mei.
After window-shopping at Jalan Petaling, we took a
refreshment of iced mocha and iced chocolate (each RM7.70) at McCafe of
McDonald’s at Jalan Silang at 12.00pm noon, before taking a RapidKL bus home at
12.35pm. The bus ride took a longer time
than MRT as it traveled a longer route, dropping and picking up passengers at
many places and getting stuck in the usual road traffic jam. We returned home at 2.10pm.

In the evening, as my eldest son Bryan wanted to treat us to a dinner at Restaurant
Ming Chu (名厨), Sri Petaling after he finished work, and my second son Wai
Jen and youngest Wai Kei would go to the restaurant separately, Soh Ai, Wai Yu,
Jia-me and I took a Grab taxi from home to go to Sri Petaling. A Malay lady Grab driver came to pick up at 6.45pm
(after I cancelled an initial booking of a Chinese Grab driver who took too long
a time) and she took a longer route passing through Sri Kembangan and Salak
Selatan and kept apologizing after we reached our destination at 7.35pm.
One of the dishes we had at Ming Chu known as “奇怪煲” (seafood soup) was quite special and tasty. I was told the 3 dishes cost a total of RM250.
We returned home in separate cars after
the delicious dinner.
