Dr JB Lim’s Challenging Questions On Coronavirus

The blogger’s note:

On May 15, 2020,  I read about a report from a website Sciencealert.com with the title of “WHO expert warns the Coronavirus 'may never go away', even if we find a vaccine” (see https://www.sciencealert.com/who-says-a-coronavirus-vaccine-is-a-massive-moonshot-we-shouldn-t-rely-onand found it eye-catching and mind-boggling.

The next day on May 16, 2020, my most learned Great Sifu Dr. Lim Ju Boo posted in a WhatsApp group a very witty, educating, philosophical and even “poetic” write-up with many punchlines and challenging questions that I wish to share with my blog readers.  Here it goes:

Cartoon Doctor Fighting Big Green Virus. Cure Corona Virus. Fight ...I think we cannot depend on vaccine as "cure all".

I think we have to depend entirely on our immune system and how we are going to activate it through natural gradual exposure to this virus and optimal nutrition.

I think we need to make our immune system adapt and change to this threat by herd or shared immunity and exposures to other infections.

I think this is how all species of life on Earth adapt to hostile environmental challenges, the way I see it from how all species of life managed to evolve and radiate very successfully for over 3.5 billion years.

I think we need to live together in symbiosis with not just this virus but with untold strains of viruses of different degrees of infection and pathogenicity already known to exist on Earth.

I think it is a matter of check and balance in order to achieve a symbiotic relation between all life including the viruses and microorganisms that are here to stay.

I think attempting to eliminate them is going to make us immunological more compromised and much more weaker as a species compared to all other living creatures already in existence over 3 billion years before us.

I think we are the most complex and the most specialized life on Earth but we (to me) are the most unadaptable compared to all other life in existence.

Do you want me to write a lengthy essay to illustrate conditions why we are the least adaptable among all living creatures on Earth?

Just think of what you are holding now to read this sentence..

Just think if all other animals in existence since 3.6 billion years ago require what you and I are holding in our hands right down.

Do they feel uncomfortable or do they die with this, or without cars, air-con, houses, clothing, washing machines, bathrooms, toilets...the lists goes on and on?

Think of the birds and flowers in the field, think of every creature you can think of.

Do any of them need the things we need? Did any of them, including bats and pangolins, camels, dogs and cats... down all these nearly 3000 million other lives on Earth, did they die of Covid?????

I want you all to think this question I ask.  Why is it ONLY humans got affected by Coronavirus and absolutely NONE of the other living creatures on Earth that does not need all those things we need to "survive"?

Why? Why?  Why?  Just ask this question I am now asking.

I want you to think this seriously over and over and get back to me.

Also answer another question in this connection:

Why most of the deaths from Coronavirus are found MAINLY in advanced countries that depend highly on technology such as China, US, Europe and far, far less in countries of the third world where people are far far more adaptable without all these devices - cars, computers, air-con, smart phones, high-end houses,  wealth, good living.. This list goes on and on.

Answer me if this has something to to do with how life adapts and evolves to blend with Nature and what God only provides and nothing more?

Meantime this virus is here to stay and it is going to face us and blocking our every "modern" life style.

This is just a hint.

I hope all of you can understand.

P/S:

The Great Sifu Dr. JB Lim examines the epidemiological data of the current pandemic of Coronavirus and asked himself the reasons why most of the incidence rates and death from infection are found mainly in advanced countries such as China, United States, Europe that depends highly on technology and gadgets such as cars, computers, air-con, smart phones, high end houses, wealth, comfortable and good living compared to countries of the third world where people are far more biologically and socially adaptable being devoid of these technological dependence, and yet glaringly their infection and mortality rates are the lowest.

He compares their social behavior and ability to adapt to threats in the environments with those animals that lives freely in the wild and yet none of the wild animals is affected by this virus.

In fact, scientists believe these wild animals host a lot of these pathogenic viruses happily in their bodies as part of a symbiotic relationship among them in order for the evolution of life on Earth to succeed.

In evolutionary biology, we know that the simpler the life forms such as bacteria, insects and fish the more successful they are able to mutate, change, adapt to challenges in the environment, compared to humans who cannot adapt and feels extremely uncomfortable without even basic “necessities” like clothes and shelter, let alone electricity, smart phones, computers, cars and transport…the lists goes on and on.

Our high dependencies on these artifacts beyond our biological requirements make us the least adaptable including risk of infections among all living creatures on Planet Earth.

Dr. Lim concludes with the following message: “Let me quote these Biblical verses:
35 Inspirational Bible Verses and Quotes - Scriptures to Encourage ...
25.  Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment?

26.  Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value than they?

27. And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life?

28.  And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29.  Yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30.  But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31.  Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
