My 3rd son Wai Yu is the first of my four
children to get married. He fell in love
with Jia-Mei who hails from Taichung, Taiwan whom he met in New Zealand during their Work-and-Travel
program in 2014.
Since then, Wai Yu has been to Taiwan to meet his girl-friend’s family members,
and Jia-Mei has also come to Malaysia
twice and stayed with us once for a few days.
On Saturday, March 4, 2017, my wife Soh Ai, eldest
son Wai Kit, Wai Yu and I flew to Taiwan for a 9D8N stay and the main
objective was to witness Wai Yu’s marriage registration with Jia-Mei.

We were received by Jia-Mei at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and driven by her to her residence in Taichung, about 160 km away |
We were treated to a sumptuous dinner by Jia-Mei’s
father on the next day of March 5, 2017.

Bye bye to Wai Yu and Jia-Mei |
As a father, my most
fervent hope for all my children is they can make a decent living and lead a
happy life as they grow up and have their own families. They can repay me more than enough by being
able to achieve these two things. And I have affirmed this with Wai Yu. Meanwhile, I am totally satisfied with my
daughter-in-law Jia-Mei as I find her very thoughtful, caring and loving.
Quoting the
iconic phrase from the movie “Star Wars”, May The Force Be With Them Always and
they will forever be in love and live happily ever after.
