Attendance at IEM 64th Annual Dinner at One World Hotel on July 15, 2023

I attended the IEM 64^th Annual Dinner & Awards Night at One World Hotel, Bandar Utama, PJ on July 15, 2023 in the capacity of a member of the institution’s Standing Committee on Information & Publications (InfoPub StandCom).

The Guest of Honour of the event was Minister of Works Dato’ Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi graced by Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Hj Fadillah Yusoff who was conferred the Honorary Fellow of IEM this evening.

I left home at 6.00pm and reached One World Hotel at 7.10pm.  Met and chatted with a few acquainted past and present fellow Committee members such as Vice President Ir. Mohd Khir Muhammad, Hon. Treasurer Ir. David Chuah Joon Huang, Ir. Dr. Richard Oh Seong Por, Ir, Yap Soon Hoe and others.

Ir. Mohd Khir was very active in IEM having served in various positions.  He was Vice Chairman of InfoPub in 4 sessions i.e. 2009/2010, 2015/2016, 2016/2017 and 2017/2018, and IEM monthly Bulletin Editor from 2014/2015 till 2017/2018 (3 sessions).  Ir. Dr. David Chuah was Vice Chairman of InfoPub in 2019/2020 and 2020/2021.  He was elevated as the IEM Hon. Secretary in 2021/2022.

I  was seated at Table No. 88 with fellow InfoPub Committee members Ir. Dr. Richard Oh, Ir. Ong Guan Hock, Ir. Dr. Siow Chun Lin, Ir. Ts. Wong Chee Fui and Ir. Dr. Hum Yan Chai.

The programme of this evening's function is as shown in the image below.

Dinner started at 8.25pm.  It was noted that most of  the dishes were half consumed only at our table as many members were busy socializing with friends all over the hall instead of sitting and eating.

I left the function at 11.00pm before it was ended.  Reached home at almost 12.00am midnight.
