Mother’s Day (May 10, 2026) Celebration

On Sunday, May 10, 2026, my 3 sons viz. Wai Kit, Wai Yu and Wai Kei celebrated my wife Soh Ai Mother’s Day with a Hunan cuisine (湘菜) lunch at Peng Chu (彭厨湘菜馆) Mid Valley Megamall, K.L.

Five of us savored 5 dishes:湖南人爱吃的回锅肉(RM48)、酸菜鱼片(RM72)、原汁肉枣汤(RM38)、招牌四季豆(RM34)、擂辣椒皮蛋(RM28).

The final bill including 4 plates of rice, Chinese tea plus 10% service charge and 6% service tax was RM287.70, paid by Wai Yu.

The restaurant also gave a goody bag to Soh Ai as a gift for Mother’s Day. It consisted of a vacuum cup, honey tea (longan & jujube) and a small towel.

In the evening, I brought Soh Ai and Wai Kei to Brew House of BMC Mall at Bandar Mahkota Cheras for Western food dinner, as it offered Mother’s Day 50% off the prices of chicken chops, steaks, lamb chops & etc. for the weekends only.

We ate 2 plates of Grilled Lamb Chop (each RM43.80), 1 plate of Hainanese Chicken Chop (RM25.80) (only these items were priced 50% off) and 2 bottles of Root Beer (RM13.60).  Total cost after discount and including 6% SST was RM87.20. The dishes were delicious.

After dinner, we shopped at NSK supermarket where I bought RM53.50 using MyKasih and RM51.60 cash of various groceries, before returning home.
