My children decided to have a belated Mother’s Day Celebration for my wife on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
Soh Ai, Wai Kit and I left home at 2.30pm to Mid Valley City, KL. to be joined by Wai Yu at Aurum Theatre of The Gardens Mall to watch the latest action/adventure movie of “Fast X” starring Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa & others at the showtime of 4.15pm.
This was the first time I went for a movie in a very luxurious cinema.
Aurum (Latin word for Gold) offers 3 types of distinctly themed halls namely Getha Lux Suites, Comfort Cabins and Escape Studios. The one we went to was Comfort Cabin (RM130 per seat minus 20% for Maybank credit card users) which offers 2-motor luxury recliner seats / cuddle pillows / fleece blankets / personal side lamps etc. and in-house dining of orange juice and snacks (incl. fried chicken wings). No wonder it is boasted to be “the pinnacle of prestige and exclusivity” - true cinematic luxury of GSC. Wai Kit treated us for the 3-D version of the action-packed thrilling movie “Fast X”.
After the movie of 2h 21m long, Wai Yu treated us to a dinner at Fong Lye Taiwan Fusion Cuisine Restaurant (蓬萊台湾料理) at the same Gardens Mall. Wai Jen came from outside to join us at about 7.40pm.
3 of all our 4 children (except Wai Kei who is currently working/travelling in New Zealand) were present to celebrate this belated Mother’s Day this year.
The food we savored included sweet-and-sour and cheese prawns (酸甜和奶油), sliced lamb (羊肉片皮), General toss chicken (左宗棠鸡), vegetables, chicken soup, Korean rice and Oolong tea, All were considerably delicious.
We left Mid Valley City at about 8.30pm and returned home at 9.00pm. It was a wonderful family time for us!
