JUST TO SHARE (Lau Tai Onn): A Day Trip to Klang/Kuala Selangor/Sekinchan on January 16, 2025

Six of us, viz. Goh Boon Keong, Tiu Sook Chin, Yap Kuang Boon, Tan Sok Mooi, my wife Soh Ai and me, went for a day trip to Klang (巴生) / Kuala Selangor (瓜雪) / Sekinchan (适耕庄) on Thursday, January 16, 2025 in two cars driven by Goh and Yap respectively from 6.30am till 8.35pm.

We left as early as 6.30am in order to beat the traffic jam to go to Klang to have Bak Kut Teh (肉骨茶) for breakfast.

Goh was our "tour leader" as he is very familiar with all the places (and he has superb memories) that we intended to visit, and Yap's car would follow us.

A brief account of the trip is as follows:

6.30am Goh and Tiu came to our house to fetch us. We pumped RM60 petrol at Petronas Station (I paid for it) on the way out to Jalan Cheras.

The traffic from Federal Highway to Klang was already quite heavy at this early hour.

8.30am Reached Restoran Chow Kiat Bak Kut Teh (超吉美味肉骨茶). We ordered 6 bowls of various types of Bak Kut The (each RM18) and 6 plates of rice and tea (hot water only, Goh brought tea-bag). The total cost was RM125 for six of us (each couple RM42).

This is the second time Yap and I patronized this Restoran. Very tasty indeed as this is Goh’s favourite Bak Kut Teh restaurant in Klang.

9.25am Left Klang and proceeded to Kapur direction.

10.10am Arrived at Kedai Kopi Shin Lok (新乐茶室), Tmn. Kenari, Sg. Sembilang, Jeram where we had cofee and shared eating Pao Sayor (RM2.40), Pao Kacang Tanah (RM2.20), Pao Kaya (RM2.20), Pao Kelapa (RM2.20) and Pau Purple (RM2.70). Total RM11.70. I also bought and took away 3 pc. Pao Purple and 2 pc. Pao Kaya.

10.50am Left.

11.20am Arrived at Bukit Malawati at Kuala Selangor (as Yap and his wife hadn’t visited this tourist spot before). We took some pictures at the cannons area as well as watched the monkeys. Very quiet and no other tourists were found.

11.40am Left for Sekinchan.

12.15pm Goh brought us to Kedai Roti Aman Jaya, Sekinchan where I bought 10+ 1 (free) roti buns of different flavours (cream roll, blueberry bun, kaya bun, red bean bun, kopi cream and coconut bun) for RM11.

12.40pm Visited Pearl Rice Garden (PLS Marketing) and bought Juara Mutiara Import 5kg (RM17.50) and Sekinchan Fragrant Rice (本地香米) 2kg (RM13.00). Took a group photo in front the Paddy Gallery.

1.10pm Visited Villa Chee Container Homestay among the rice paddies field at Jalan Sawah Ban Site B of Sekinchan. Many different types of bicycles for rental were observed. The container rooms, suites and cabins are quite unique!

1.40pm Visited Hai Seng Huat Fishery (海成发鱼行). As there were not many fishes left, we didn’t buy anything at all.

2.00pm Visited Hai Bak Wang (海霸王行业). Mrs. Yap bought the most. Soh Ai bought 4 types of fishes for RM83.

3.40pm Arrived at Kuala Selangor wet market and had coconut drinks at a stall across the main road (RM4.50 each, I paid for 3 nos.). Also bought a packet of keropok (prawn cracker) for RM9.

4.05pm Visited Pasar Basah Pasir Penambang, Kuala Selangor Market and bought 1 kg of big prawns (RM86) and sotong katak (目斗) for RM15. Again Mrs. Yap bought the most fish items and saw her bought 5kg of a very big Siakap (石甲鱼) for RM125.

4.35pm Left.

4.45pm Patronized Perniagaan Hasil Laut 168 Lock Siew Moy (一路发海产店), Jalan Besar, Pasir Penambang, Kuala Selangor and bought Deli Ben Concentrated Ginseng Luo Han Guo 1kg (RM19.50), Semaju Handmade Bihun 600g (RM10), 2x50g Perisa Sotong Fimen (RM10), Misc. Sweet/Biscuit/Snack (九制陈皮RM6). Total RM45.50.

5.25pm Walked across the road to have dinner at River View Seafood Village Restaurant (港景渔乡海鲜楼).

We had Caipo Steam Fish (菜脯蒸石甲鱼 RM65.60)，Superb Bowl (招牌三鲜 RM48)，Cai Xiang Taufu (菜香豆腐 RM16), Salted Egg Vege (咸蛋四大天王 RM18), Vegetable Yam Cake (佛砵 RM20), Rice (RM9.60), Kok Poh Tea (菊堡 RM6). Total RM194.20 (or RM65 each couple). All the dishes were very delicious!

6.40pm Left Kuala Selangor.

8.30pm Returned home amid falling rain.
