2018 CNY Gathering of Schoolmates of Tsun Jin High School Graduation Class of 1973

On Sunday 11/03/2018, around 50 of us who are classmates or schoolmates of Tsun Jin High School graduation class of 1973 gathered for a buffet lunch at Restoran Marco Polo, Wisma Lim Foo Yong, Jalan Raja Chulan, K.L. from 11.00am till 2.45pm.

The buffet cost collected from each person was RM 40.  As there was a discount due to a classmate being a member of the Restaurant, the remainder sum after final payment was used as lucky draw prizes.

I found the food for the buffet lunch quite plenty but the taste was so so only.  I didn’t really eat much at all, and I figured the get-together and chit-chatting with old friends is more important than the food. 

Anyway, I was told that many senior citizens like to patronize this restaurant for buffet because of the relatively reasonable price.  The Restaurant’s members also enjoy buy-one-free-one for 5 diners.

It was a pleasant get-together for everyone.  At my table, the main topic of discussions was traveling experiences.  It is obvious that at our present age, traveling is the most interested subject.

There were schoolmates whom we didn’t recognize as we were not in the same class in the past but we nevertheless greeted one another.  I was particularly amused in one incident that, after Joan Loo (罗佩珍) came to our table and chatted at length for some time, my Junior Middle classmate Kerwin Lim (林山中) suddenly asked who she was in front of her.  They were in different classes during Senior Middle time.  I also couldn’t recognize certain schoolmates as we greeted, but I only asked about their names after they walked away.

We had a group photo at the end of the lunch, but some classmates/schoolmates had departed earlier.  I heard some of them would continue to go for karaoke session.     

Heartiest appreciation is hereby extended to Richard Lim (林志强) for organizing this gathering despite his busy church activities on a Sunday and hence his late arrival for the lunch.
