A Day Trip To Genting Highland On Sept. 16, 2019
On Monday, Sept. 16, 2019 in conjunction with the Malaysia Day and while Soh Ai went with her friends for a day’s trip to the “Mirror In The Sky”, Sekinchan, I went for a day's trip to Genting Highland by free coach service from Bandar Sg. Long at 10.00am with high school classmate Wong Yoke Meng.
I left home at 8.20am by bus to UTAR bus-stop and met Wong at the coffee shop for breakfast.
We left at 10.00am sharp with the 42-seater coach fully occupied by passengers (tour guide Jean) and reached First World Hotel of Genting Highland at about 11.20am.
As today is a public holiday, the indoor theme park of First World World Hotel and casinos were crowded with people.
A short clip showing the indoor theme park:
I soon found that my Resorts World Genting Classic card has expired and needed to be reactivated. There was a long queue in the customer service centre and it took me more than half an hour to get thing done.
With my card reactivated, I was able to purchase RM300 “mud chips” that came with a free meal voucher through the tour guide Jean. Jean even sought the help of a gold-card member to sponsor me to enter the VIP Casino. Wong is a silver-card member and has enough GP points to be upgraded to be a gold-card member but he wanted to maintain his status quo.
So we went into the VIP Casino and took 7 cups of milo, cereal, milk and chrysanthemum drinks for free. The drinks were very tasty.
After the drink, we tried our luck at the Baccarat table (min. bet RM50) by each forking out RM200 in cash (as mud codes were not accepted there) and Wong asked me to sit and play. After about 45 min. of play with me playing half time and Wong the remaining, we lost RM275. We left the VIP Casino to go for lunch with our free meal vouchers, I was told the food costs RM21 if we were to buy with cash. Both of us took rice with 2 meat, 2 vege and a bowl of soup. Each of us had with us 2 bottles of mineral water taken freely from the VIP Casino.
After lunch, Wong found a Baccarat table crowded with gamblers, and I joined him in betting twice for RM100 and RM200 respectively using my mud chips (he bet RM300 instead). We won but I didn’t want to continue and proceeded to cash out the winning cash chips. Wong bet for a third time but he lost this time.
We left the casino and I exchanged my mud chips of RM300 with a woman by the name of 珍姐 by paying her a commission of RM6.
We took the coach at 4.00pm to return to Bandar Sg. Long amid heavy traffic and short duration of drizzling, reaching at 5.55pm. Wong fetched me to the bus stop nearby my home for me to walk back. That concluded my trip to Genting Highland for fun and thrill.
