In my earlier article on "Our Blessed Living Heart" here:
https://taionn.blogspot.com/2021/01/our-blessed-living-heart.html?m=1
I casually mentioned that the heart as a living pumping machine could pump out 5 litres of blood per minute as its cardiac output for a healthy 70 kg individual.
At that output, it could fill up many times the size of a large Olympics swimming pool.
However I did not mention the numbers to make the write-up as brief as possible.
When this was circulated in the social media, a friend was so impressed what I wrote, he wrote back with praises.
I replied he only needs to glorify God our Creator, and no one else.
This is this length of time given to us through the Grace of our Intelligent Designer till our souls fly away.
“Three score and ten... and we shall fly away.” (Psalm 90:10
Since the cardiac output of a healthy heart on an average is 5 litres per minute, translated over 90 years it would have pumped out 236,683 cubic meters of blood.
The size of a large Olympics swimming pool with 10 lanes measuring 50 m in length x 25 m in width x 2 m deep would be 2,500 cubic metres.
This implies it would need 94.67 Olympics size swimming pools or almost a 100 of them to contain all the blood gushed out from our hearts throughout life.
If the average heart rate is say, 75 times per minute pumping out 5 litres of blood per minute, the heart has to pump:
75 times x 60 minutes per hour x 24 hours a day x 365.25 days a year x 90 years = 3,550,230,000 times throughout our lives without a single rest till it dies in harness.
That's 3.5 billion times, about the same number of years life first emerged on Earth 3.5 billion years ago with each beat of the heart, representing each year life evolved on this Planet Earth.
Isn't that an amazing coincidence on the existence of life?
But above all, a guided spiritual well-being from our Intelligent Designer and Creator.
I hope I have elaborated and has helped informatively and spiritually.
Amen.
