SARS-CoV2 Pandemic: An Indented Biological Purpose

The blogger is requested by Dr. Lim Ju Boo to publish the following essay written by him after revising twice and finalized before emailing to the blogger at 6:38AM on 01/03/2021.  He has burned the midnight oil since Sunday night in writing this lengthy and comprehensive essay before going to sleep at 6:50AM on Monday 01/03/2021.

How can we readers not agree that Dr. Lim is truly a “fantastic walking encyclopedia” and an indisputable Great Sifu of our time?

In reply, let me give my views.

I think we are all going against Nature trying to stop this natural phenomena of the current Covid-19 pandemic by keeping our human population unchecked.

 

Pandemic since Ancient Civilizations:

 

First, let us look at the history of disease, plagues, pestilence and pandemics.

 

Pandemics of communicable diseases were already with the human race since the days of hunter-gatherer some 12,000 years ago. Diseases, plagues and pestilence may have even existed as early as 50,000 years ago.

 

When humans migrated from Asia to Australia and when human moved towards agrarian life 10,000 years ago they created communities and societies that made epidemics more potential. Diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis, leprosy, influenza, smallpox and others then made their first  appearances during that period.

 

The earliest recorded pandemic happened during the Peloponnesian War in Athens in 430 BC. It then spread into Libya, Ethiopia and Egypt before crossing the Athenian walls as the Spartans laid siege. As much as two-thirds of the population died.

 

The Antonine plague in 165 AD was probably an early emergence of smallpox that began with the Huns. The Huns then spread the disease to the Germans, who then passed it on to the Romans and it then proliferated throughout the Roman empire. This plague sustained until about 180 A.D resulting in Emperor Marcus Aurelius as one of its victims.

 

Following that, there was also the Cyprian Plague in 250 A.D.

 

Named after the Christian bishop of Carthage who was the first victim, it caused symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea, fever, ulcerations of the throat and gangrene on the hands and feet.

 

City dwellers fled to the countryside to escape the epidemic but instead it proliferated the disease further. It was thought to have originated in Ethiopia before spreading to throughout Northern Africa, onwards into Rome, before mushrooming onto Egypt and northward.

We then also have Justinian Plague in 541 A.D.

 

Initially appearing in Egypt before spreading through Palestine and the Byzantine Empire, before swelling throughout the Mediterranean.

 

It reemerged over the next two centuries that then killed about 50 million people, which was about one-third of the world population then.

 

It is thought to be similar to the bubonic plague, which features enlarged lymphatic gland. It was thought to be carried by rats and spread by fleas.

 

Then in 11th Century leprosy flared up into a pandemic in Europe in the Middle Ages, resulting in the building of hospitals specially for leprosy patients that grew into large numbers just like we do for Covid-19 first in China then elsewhere where we designated certain hospitals to accommodate the flood of Covid-19 patients coming in.

 

Leprosy or Hansen’s disease as we now call it, was believed to be a punishment from God where it still today afflicts tens of thousands of people.

 

It was no different from malaria or Covid-19 today. 

Pandemic then emerged again in 1350 with the Black Death which always seemed to kill off one-third of the world population before they receded as foretold in more than 100 verses in the Bible.

 

These pandemics were always about a third of the population that needs to perish, probably for reasons of cutting down overpopulation through Natural Selection.

 

This is to keep genetically the best adapted, and for the maintenance of all life forms, humans as well as the animals for a much longer period till Judgment Day.

 

The second large outbreak of the bubonic plague probably began in Asia and moved west through caravans.

 

It then entered throughout Sicily in 1347 A.D. when plague sufferers arrived in the port of Messina.

 

Subsequently it spread very rapidly throughout Europe.

 

Dead bodies were everywhere. It became so prevalent that many continued to rot on the ground and created a constant stench in cities.

 

England and France were so incapacitated by the plague that they called a truce to their war. The British feudal system collapsed when the plague changed economic situations and demographics.

 

It affected populations in Greenland where the Vikings lost the power to wage battle against native populations, and their exploration of North America came to an end. 

 

Then in 1492 when Columbus discovered America and the arrival of the Spanish in the Caribbean, diseases such as smallpox, measles and bubonic plague were passed along to the native populations by the Europeans.

 

With no previous immunological exposure, these diseases overwhelmed indigenous people, causing as many as 90 percent dying throughout the north and south continents.

 

Upon arrival on the island of Hispaniola, Christopher Columbus encountered the Taino people, population 60,000. By 1548, the population stood at less than 500. This scenario repeated itself throughout the Americas.

 

In 1520, the Aztec Empire was destroyed by smallpox. The disease killed many of its victims and incapacitated others. It undermined the population who were unable to resist Spanish colonizers and left farmers unable to produce needed crops. 

Then came the Great Plague of London in 1662 that resulted in the death of some 25 - 30 percent of London’s population.

 

As human death tolls escalated and mass graves materialized hundreds of thousands of cats and dogs were slaughtered as the possible cause of the disease. It spread through ports along the Thames. The worst of the outbreak tapered off in the fall of 1666, around the same time as the Great Fire of London which was a blessing in disguise.

 

Going down into the history of plagues and pestilence afflicting the human race, came the first cholera pandemic in 1817.

 

That was first of a series of seven cholera pandemics over the next 150 years, an intestinal infection that originated in Russia, where one million people died. It then spread through feces-infected water and food where the bacterium was passed along to British soldiers who brought it to India where millions more died.

 

The British Empire then through its navy spread cholera to Spain, Africa, Indonesia, China, Japan, Italy, Germany and America, where it killed 150,000 people. A vaccine was created in 1885, but this did not work and the pandemics continued. 

Then emerged the third Plague Pandemic we experienced in 1855. Starting in China and moving on to India and Hong Kong, the bubonic plague claimed 15 million victims. Initially spread by fleas during a mining boom in Yunnan, the plague is considered a factor in the Parthay rebellion and the Taiping rebellion.

 

India faced the most substantial casualties, and the epidemic was used as an excuse for repressive policies that sparked some revolt against the British. The pandemic was considered active until 1960 when cases dropped below a couple of cases.

 

In 1875 emerged the Fiji measles after Fiji ceded to the British Empire.

 

A royal party visited Australia as a gift from Queen Victoria. Arriving during a measles eruption, the royal party brought the disease back to their island, and it was spread further by the tribal heads and police who met with them upon their return.

 

Spreading quickly, the island was overwhelmed with corpses that were foraged by wild animals, and entire villages died and were burned down, sometimes with the sick trapped inside the fires.

 

Again one-third of Fiji’s population died which was a total of 40,000 people. 

 

After sweeping the Earth with periodic pandemic next came the Russian flu in 1889.

 

It started in Siberia and Kazakhstan spread to Moscow, and made its way into Finland and then Poland from where it progressed into the rest of Europe. In the year that followed, it had crossed the ocean into North America and Africa, and by the time it ended in 1890 some 360,000 had died. No vaccine was used, and yet it died a natural death.

 

Then the “fun” came for all human race which saw the avian-borne flu that end resulted in 50 million deaths worldwide.

 

That was the 1918 flu, erroneously labeled as the “Spanish flu” due to its reported origin in Madrid, just like we wrongly blame Wuhan in China as the “Chinese virus” and the origin of Covid-19.

 

The 1918 flu actually first emerged in Europe, crossed into the United States and parts of Asia before speedily spreading around the world.

 

There were no effective drugs or vaccines to control killer flu strain.  By October, hundreds of thousands of Americans perished and body storage hit catastrophic levels. But by the summer of 1919 it vanished naturally without any vaccine. 

 

It is estimated that about 500 million people or one-third of the world's population were infected by this virus. The number of deaths was estimated to be at least 50 million worldwide with about 675,000 occurring in the United States.

 

Again it was always one-third of the world population either died or was affected as prescribed in Revelation 9:15 in the Bible. The Bible says 1/3 of mankind will be killed by pestilence and pandemic.

 

This decree was also appeared in Ezekiel 5:12 and in similar verses elsewhere in the Bible.

 

Then down pandemic history, came the Asian flu. Emerging from Hong Kong and distributing throughout China and then into the United States, the Asian flu became prevalent in England where over six months 14,000 people died.

 

A second wave followed in early 1958, resulting in an estimated total of about 1.1 million deaths with 116,000 deaths in the United States alone. A vaccine was developed but we are unsure if it controlled the pandemic or did it die naturally as with all other previous pandemic without any vaccines, although some believe it was the vaccine. But scientists till today are unsure.

 

Then came the human immunodeficiency virus that invaded Earth causing the emergence of AIDS Epidemic in 1981.

 

It was first seen in America among the gay community, but is believed to have originated from a chimpanzee virus from West Africa in the 1920s.

 

HIV that destroys the victim’s immune system as it spreads through body fluids. Though confined mainly to Haiti in the 1960s, and then New York and San Francisco in the 1970s, it became highly infectious through blood and genital fluid, as the disease destroys the immune T-cells.

 

Following HIV, humanity faced the Serve Acute Respiratory Syndrome or SARS outbreak in 2003 which scientists like the present Covid-19 blame the bats or the pangolins as the source(s).

 

First identified in 2003 after several months of observations, SARS is believed to have started in China before it went after 26 other countries by infecting 8,096 people, with 774 deaths.

 

SARS is a severe respiratory problem, presented by a dry cough, fever and head and body aches and is spread through respiratory droplets from coughs and sneezes. There was also no vaccine available, yet SARS withdrew its attack on the human race comparatively very fast.

 

Then 16 years on, in 2019 emerged this current Covid-19 that scientists believed it may be related to a mutant strain the SARS virus, and called Covid-19 as the SARS-Covid2 which is far more aggressive and longer-lasting than the SARS (1).

 

Current Scenario:

 

So here is where we are currently.

 

I believe this current pandemic as with all other pandemics since ancient past has a purpose of keeping the human population in check.

 

Periodically about one third of the human race on the surface of Earth need to be removed, either through plagues and diseases, famine, war, or natural disasters so as to maintain a healthy balance in the population against food shortages, congestion and overcrowding, over consumption, accumulation of toxic wastes and pollution from the way we produce, consume, congest, and pollute, more importantly also for their survival of other life forms that have their rights to be here first. We are all late arrivals, and I shall explain this later.

 

It would not just be for a healthy and comfortable balance of humans and space available, but also genetically to maintain the selection of the fittest for continuing survival of the human race and other life forms as well.  

 

Selection of Genes that Remains:

 

In population genetics we call this natural phenomenon a “genetic drift”, meaning a variation in the relative frequency of different genotypes in a small population, owing to the chance disappearance of particular genes as individuals die or do not reproduce.

 

It could either be a bottleneck genetic drift or a founder effect.

 

The bottleneck effect is an extreme example of genetic drift that occurs when the size of a population is severely reduced. Events like natural disasters, pandemics as in this case, earthquakes, floods, or fires can decimate a population, killing most individuals and leaving behind a small, random assortment of survivors.

 

This applies to every living species on Earth even for the animal kingdom so that the best genes survive a disaster.

 

Predators:

In the animal kingdom, this is done through predators that keep the animal population in check or in other environmental challenges so that the best of the genetically adapted is able to survive the weakest.

 

In human population we do not have larger natural predators to kill us or part of our human population, but we have much, much smaller ones in their sheers numbers.

 

These too are “predators”.  They are the pathogenic microorganisms like bacteria and viruses that do the same biological role as large natural predators in the animal kingdom. 

 

These pathogenic “predators” of ours are by far much more aggressive and dangerous than the much larger predators for animals that hunt the smaller and weaker ones for food.

 

For instance, we have bacteria that causes cholera, leprosy, tuberculosis, syphilis, anthrax as examples, or diseases like malaria, chikungunya, dengue, and in other countries the zika virus and west Nile virus caused by mosquitoes or diseases caused by viruses like SARS, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV), para influenza, adenovirus infection, virus pneumonia, flu or even the common cold.

The current Covid-19 here has an intended biological purpose, mainly to wipe out all who are no longer genetically-capable of passing on better and newer genes for the survival of their offspring.

 

That is why we see most of the mortality was among the elderly and those with existing morbidity especially those with chronic disorders like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal, cancers and other chronic disorders that may pass on their defective genes to the generations to come.

 

But unfortunately we just cannot see this, or understand Nature’s intended biological purpose from the eyes of an evolutionary biologist or doctor specializing in evolutionary medicine.

 

Our Selfish Gene:

 

All we want is to keep everybody on this planet, even those who are already old or with existing disease that need to go. This is very understandable from our human desire and prospective. But our human understanding and desire unfortunately is not what is desired for the better survival of the fittest that shall carry our genes down the generations as Nature sees it.

 

But our unchecked overpopulation is like weeds in a beautiful garden, and I shall explain this a little later.

 

It is not just the younger generations that need to survive and live, but they are genetically hardier and more adapted to replace the weaker and immunological compromised. This selection has successfully been implemented for billions of years through evolution, and there is no need for us to vainly overturn it with our drugs and vaccines. We are not fighting against a virus but we are at war with our Creator.  

 

The generations to survive after us are not just young, but they are genetically newer as a human species. 

 

I think we are all going against the order of Nature using controversial vaccines that have already caused so much deaths and adverse reactions.

 

Even if we are successful with one variant of Covid-19 virus, what if the virus mutates and infects again the same individual who has already been vaccinated from the previous variant? Are we going to re-vaccinate him / her with another type of vaccines?

 

This virus theoretically is very capable of mutating at a few hundred quintillion times against all odds as it too needs to continue to exist.

The Evolution of Life and Humans on Earth:

Some 4,000 million years ago, prebiotic chemistry became possible, followed by 3,800 million years ago when RNA world (virus) came into existence shown by the first chemical fossil that became available.

 

3,600 million years ago the first DNA protein came into life form, and 3,500 million years ago archaea and bacteria spilt and photosynthesis (autotrophy) began, followed by 2,700 – 1,900 million years ago when the first eukaryotes / sexual reproduction became possible.

 

But it was not until 542 – 488 million year ago life became to bloom everywhere like beautiful flowers similar to a garden during the Cambrian Radiation.

 

The first vertebrate appeared 525 million years ago, followed 440 million years ago (Mya) when the first vascular land plants bloomed.

 

 

Then came along the first insects 425 Mya, and 365 Mya when plants evolved seeds and first tetrapods surfaced.

 

This scenario continued 354 Mya with the insects taking flight, then 350 Mya the first land-swelling vertebrates bloomed.

 

This was followed 240 Mya by the appearance of the first dinosaurs. But it was 210 Mya, we saw the arrival of the first mammals.

 

Two hundred years million years ago the Pangea breakup began, followed 150 Mya by the Archaeopteryx / birds flight.

 

Following 140 Mya, flowering plants began to appear, after which the dinosaurs took flight like early birds between 128 to 124 million years ago.

 

Only then 125 Mya mammalians began their gliding flight.

 

All these emerged long, long before the first human-like hominids made their first appearances.

  

Then 120,000 ago, Homo language may have been possible before the wolf and dog split 100,000 years ago.

 

Around 79,000 – 15,000 years ago the Wisconsin glaciations started, and only 45,000 - 50,000 years ago, humans migrated from Asia to Australia.

 

Then came the Megafauna extinction in Australia 30,000 years ago, before humans migrated from Asia to North America 14,000 – 10,000 years ago.

 

Domestication of dog and Megafauna extinction in North America took place 12,000 years ago before humans began early agriculture 8,000 years ago, after which came the domestication of cattle. It was only 6,000 years ago that there was domestication of horse.

 

Humans did not began using iron tools till 3,000 years ago.

 

In short, it was long, long after all other life forms were created or were evolved on Earth that humans began to destroy the environment and caused the extinction of other forms of life.

 

It was then the Intelligent Designer who created them before humans needs to step in with pandemics to reduce the human population till the present time when we still encroach into the habitats of all other species of life.

 

Let me explain this in another way with a simple parable. 

 

The Parable of the Gardener:

There was once a beautiful garden where the Gardener kept and grew a myriad of plants and most beautiful flowers. The flowers bloomed everywhere, and the garden He saw was good. There was no weed then. For a long time the flowers bloomed uninterrupted.

 

Then the weeds came to invade. It grew and developed, encroaching into the spaces where the flowers bloomed and caused them to die out.

 

The Gardener saw, and found it was not good. He then decided to step in to get rid of the weeds periodically so that His garden will look good again, and His plants and flowers are able to survive and bloom the space left.

 

But the weeds survived the onslaught, and continued to produce, consume, congest and pollute the space the Gardener gave to His flowers.

 

The Gardener saw the aggressive nature of the weeds. He then decided to weed them out every now again, so that the garden He planted could continue to bloom with His beautiful biodiversity of pants and flowers.

 

The plants and the flowers during the Cambrian Radiation 542 – 488 million year ago were His Garden just like it was in the Garden of Eden, till humans as weeds appeared 8,000 to 6,000 years ago to begin their own food production and early agriculture by slashing and burning and to destroy the habitats of other species of life.

 

Hope this explains.

Our Vain Battle:

I do not think our lockdown, MCOs, face masks, social distancing, together with whatever drugs and vaccines we care to offer against the order of Nature is going to work, as this pandemic as with all other previous pandemics, plagues and pestilence were already ordained and decreed by God as He need to drastically cut down the human population for overcrowding in a limited space on this planet. He requires no human vaccine to stop Him as also witnessed in all previous pandemics.

 

In conclusion, I think the more we try to fight with an Intelligent Creator of all life, the greater will be our human death tolls due to the aggressive mutagenic nature of this virus that is so capable of changing its mutagenic sequencing in untold numbers different ways, against any type of vaccines we care to devise.

 

I think we are not fighting against a virus, but we are all fighting vainly against an Intelligent Designer as many scientists prefer to call Him instead of calling Him God which they believe may not be scientific because they cannot detect or measure Him as scientists are fond of.  

 

It is my belief we shall never win this battle no matter what, whether through preventive or therapeutic modalities we care to devise if we foolishly continue to fight against Him (or the Intelligent Designer for the sake of appeasing my scientific colleagues and counterparts) or God and Creator for the rest who are less scientific and much more  humble.

 

It was He who has a purpose as He rained down various pestilence, plagues, disease, and famine on Earth since ancient past for a biological intention to periodically cut down 1/3 of our overpopulation for the best of our future interest and existence. I think we need to respect Him for this.

 

He did the same selection for the survival of the fittest with all other species of life on this planet since 542 – 488 million years ago after the Cambrian Radiation when there was a sudden explosion of all kinds of biodiversity.

 

This is His design and intended purpose, what scientists call it as Natural Selection that MUST come to pass with or without any of our man-made vaccines.

 

Our current battle is in vain against Him. He has already ordained this through His decree since 4,000 million years ago when He implanted the first prebiotic chemistry to become possible after the atmosphere and oceans were formed 4,200 million years ago.

 

Some scientists prefer to label it as a battle against the Order of Nature by leaving out God as the Designer and Creator. It is up to them. 

 

Whether we use the word “Mother Nature” or “God”, they are still the same.

 

Nature after all is the needlework and filament of God whom I trust greatly whatever name we like to call Him.

 

I am truly sorry for what we are doing. I seek His forgiveness on behalf of all learned scientists.  

Let us respect God our Creator (Nature or Intelligent Designer) who has programmed all life including us on this Planet so that our future children can be genetically-adapted to survive us through this pandemic by Natural Selection.

 

This pandemic has a biologically-intended purpose as I have already explained.
