DOES COCONUT OIL REALLY CURE COLON CANCER IN 2 DAYS?

Study Confirms

Here’s what you need to know – a recent study, conducted by group of researchers at the Adelaide University of Australia, has discovered that lauric acid eliminates almost 93% of colon cancer cells just after 2 days of treatment.

This is extremely important for you to remember – this super healthy ingredient (coconut oil) is loaded with lauric acid – it’s almost half of the content of coconut oil. And, the most interesting thing is that the lauric acid contaminates the cancer cells by releasing intense oxidative stress. So, with this process, the lauric acid reduces the levels of glutathione in cancer cells very efficiently. 

This super healthy ingredient is loaded with healthy nutrients and it can provide many health benefits, but the big corporations tend to downplay its efficacy. The medical experts say that this powerful ingredient is very useful and beneficial in preventing and fighting many different health problems, such as: diabetes, osteoporosis, viral ailments (mononucleosis, hepatitis C, herpes and so forth.), biliary tract infections, Chron’s sickness, and cancer.

Claim No 1:

Answer:

I do not know I do not have the study paper.
I do not know where this study was published? So I do not know.

Claim No 2:

Answer:

There is no doubt coconut oil is rich in lauric acid. If that is the case then our Malaysian palm oil is also very rich in dodecanoic acid (lauric acid).

In fact it is the palm kernel oil, not the total palm oil that is almost as rich as coconut oil in lauric acid content. 

An analysis of palm kernel oil shows almost half of the saturated portion comes from lauric acid.

If that is the case, I believe even our palm kernel oil is as good as coconut oil in "killing 93 percent of the cancer cells within 2 days"? 

If that is the case, then Malaysians who consume palm kernel oil which is actually used mainly for making waxes, soap and toiletries etc, would have very low  incidence of CRC (colorectal cancers) if they consume the palm kernel oil, but it is the reverse.

So how do you explain that? Maybe we consume the stearin portion of our palm oil, and not the kernel fraction.  So we do not get the protective effect? 

Or does it? I do not know because nobody has done a study on this unlike claims by scientists from Australia who made that claim for coconut oil.

Answer / Comments:

I am not too clear about this sentence as it was written in a very unscientific language. 

I am uncertain what it meant by "contaminates the cancer cells by releasing intense oxidative stress"?

The best I could understand from this sentence is that, it releases intense free radicals onto the cancer cells? 

If that was what that claim meant, then I cannot understand how dodecanoic acid can be a free radical in the first place, because this oil has quite a stable fatty acid as far as my knowledge in organic chemistry and the chemistry of fats and oils allows me to understand.

So how can this fatty acid from lauric acid suddenly become an intense oxidative stress? I just cannot understand.

However it is known that cancer cells are very susceptible to free radical damage unlike normal cells which are more tolerant.

If lauric acid actually "releases intense oxidative stress" then it would have damaged the cancer cells straight away, so how did the role of glutathione in cancer cells come in?

For those who are not familiar with biochemistry, allow me to explain this briefly in a simple language.

Glutathione is an endogenous antioxidant produced by the body's own cells including cancer cells to protect themselves from free radical damage. 

This enzyme is present abundantly especially in liver cells that have to deal with all sorts of toxins and free radicals entering the liver for detoxification because the liver is a detoxifying organ and the first organ where all drugs, toxins and nutrients enter into it through the portal vein

So do cancer cells also produce glutathione to protect themselves? 

So far so good and simple to understand (I hope so?)

If lauric acid is so powerful a free radical, then those free radicals from the lauric acid themselves (which I doubt very much) would have destroyed the cancer cells straight away without any need of the cancer cell glutathione to fight against it.

In other words, the much weaker glutathione is no match against the oxidative stress from the lauric acid.  So glutathione has no protective role here. 

But is that so? How does lauric acid suddenly become an "intense oxidative stress" to cancer? 

This does not make any sense to me in chemistry, biochemistry, cellular biology or in molecular medicine.

Neither can I understand it in nutrition and medicine. 

This just makes no scientific sense to me, let alone the claim "very efficiently".

Answer:

I fully agree with this statement.

A lot of food manufacturers in order to protect their products will do all they can to downgrade natural products that are much safer and more health-protective.

It is well-known since my student days that margarine for instance made by hydrogenation of health-promoting unsaturated oils causes the fatty acids to change their molecular orientation from cis into trans configuration

This has a devastating effect on the onset of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases. Margarine is very damaging to health, this I can warn everyone straight away. 

So is refined white sugar as the main cause of most diseases, anything from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, liver, and kidney diseases...down to eye and neurological disorders.

All these processed food products originally from their natural raw sources is the root cause of almost all chronic and degenerative diseases we know today except for accidents, casualties, acute and infectious diseases. 

Nature knows best. Food in their natural state unprocessed is medicine, but man made them into poison.

Answer:

Perfect! A perfect statement by that Australian university scientist-researcher. This too I fully agree with him.

Yes, scientists and medical researchers do not know if coconut oil is a "cure" for cancer?

Neither do I.

Also they do not know that Mother Nature (God) has already provided all these provisions for them with trees, herbs and all sorts of plants in the very beginning itself in that Garden of Eden for the continued survival of Man, except that tree of knowledge (Science) that has blinded all of us with our man-made drugs and toxins to "cure" illnesses.

Unfortunately diseases rage on more fiercely than before because what Man proposes, God disposes.

But we as scientists and researches have now realized our terrible mistakes.

So currently medical researchers are intensifying their search for natural medicines from the plants with the encouragement of WHO and research universities throughout the world with the delight of the public who is now already turning towards alternative and naturopathic medicine.
