BRIEF ACCOUNT ON CELEBRATION OF CNY 2020

On Monday, January 20, 2020, my 3rd son Wai Yu and his wife Jia-mei flew back from Taiwan to celebrate Chinese New Year (CNY) with us. They would stay in Malaysia till February 3, 2020. We had a pre-CNY reunion dinner on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 where all my children joined.

On Thursday, January 23, 2020, Soh Ai, Wai Kit and I drove to my mother-in-law’s home at Rantau Panjang, Selama, Perak.  We left at 9.00am and reached our destination at 4.00pm after making 2 stops at Kawasan Rehat (R&R) Rawang and Tapah for food and drinks. The traffic along the highway was smooth except the stretch from Tapah to Ipoh.

Wai Jen, Wai Yu, Jia-mei and Wai Kei drove in one car to Rantau Panjang on Saturday, Januray 25, 2020 (CNY's 1st Day).  They left KL at 4.00am and reached Rantau at about 8.30am.

As usual, we had steamboat dinner on CNY's 2nd Day in the presence of Soh Ai’s eldest sister Sock Kim and her family, her younger brother Sze Hean and his family, youngest brother Sze Teong (whose wife Kiddy went to Bangkok for tour with her family members) and my family.

Wai Jen left for home by train from Bukit Mertajam in the morning of Monday, January 27, 2020 (CNY's 3rd Day) while the rest of us left Rantau Panjang on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 (CNY's 4th Day).

The following are snapshots and brief descriptions of our CNY gatherings and celebrations for the record:

Wai Yu had fever and sore throat since CNY's 1st Day night. We took him to Hospital Selama for consultation on 2nd Day (Sunday).  It was long wait (about 2 hours) at A&E Dept. (as Outpatient Dept. was closed on weekends) and he was prescribed the above medicine (all for RM1 only).
