A Half-day City Tour on June 5, 2023

In conjunction with the public holiday of the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong’s birthday on Monday, June 5, 2023, and on the suggestion of Wai Kit, we decided to make a half-day city tour to Bukit Bintang area by MRT.

Soh Ai and I followed Wai Kit’s car to Batu 11 Cheras MRT station at 11.00am.  We took a train to Bukit Bintang station and visited Eslite Spectrum (诚品生活) at The Starhill, Jalan Bukit Bintang.

Eslite Spectrum is a renowned Taiwanese cultural icon, being a creative cultural venue with a rich selection of Chinese, English and Malay language books, as well as music, design and hand-made goods, performing arts, themed restaurants and coffee shops, lifestyle brands, and diverse cutting-edge cultural and creative brands. It is now the anchor tenant of The Starhill, and the first flagship store in Southeast Asia.

After walking around in Eslite Bookstore (诚品书店), we settled down at Come True Cafe (成真咖啡) to have some food and beverage.

I ordered the Carame lize Brulee (熔岩焦香布蕾) which is a signature dessert (i.e. fluffy souffle with homemade lime special sauce and sprinkled with grilled sugar) and takes about 40 minutes to prepare after placing order.  This RM44 burnt cream custard was still warm when served and was really tasty. Wai Kit ordered Sea Salt Original Squid (RM49) and it looks yummy too.  The total cost came to RM152.65 and paid by Wai Kit.

After that, we proceeded to Lot 10 Shopping Mall and visited Don Don Donki and H&M.  I just went window shopping and didn’t buy anything at all.

We left Bukit Bintang at 2.35pm and caught MRT train at 2.45pm. We returned home at 3.00pm.

Sungai Long Hill Hiking on Friday, June 2, 2023

Wefie with Danny (centre) and Yong

At 7.00am on Friday, June 2, 2023, I joined buddy Yong Yew Khoon to hike Sungai l.ong Hill after an absence of a few months on my part.

We took the trail to Sg. Long Hill Park (双龙花果山) where a certain area was reported recently in the newspaper to have undergone earthwork damaging the natural scenery.

We were joined by two other buddies Danny Lau  and Poon Yoke Meng later.  On our way back, we saw a troop of monkeys (no fewer than 20) crawling along the pole cables.

Y.B .Hee Loy Hean (Kajang state assemblyman cum Selangor state ex-co member) just arrived for a visit of this hill with an entourage of officers and reporters, as we were about to depart at 8.10am.

I returned home at 8.20am.
