Suggested by Wai Kit, three of us (including Soh Ai and I) went for a half-day trip to Mid Valley City, K.L. on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at about 10.00am after having breakfast at a coffee shop at Taman Rakan on the way out to Jalan Cheras.
As Wai Yu is going to Bangkok on vacation next Thursday, I helped him buy some Thai Baht (THB) as the money exchange rate in Mid Valley is the best in town.
The 3 money changer shops at LG Mid Valley Megamall were found to be full of customers lining up for changing money. I queued up at KL Remit Exchange for about 20 minutes before buying THB 7,000 with an exchange rate of THB100 = RM13.385.
After this, we went to Mid Valley Exhibition Centre (MVEC KL) on 3F to roam about the GoTravel Expo (held from December 9 to 11). The venue is much smaller than the MATTA Fair at MITEC, but quite a number of travel agencies participated and the crowd was not small. As I didn’t intend to travel anywhere in the near future, I just collected some travel pamphlets and left.
Next stop was The Gardens Mall next to Mid Valley Megamall where we had our late lunch (2.10pm) at The Village Roast Duck (乡村烧鸭) at LG floor. We savored Peking Duck with Pancake (half 北京片皮鸭半只, RM52.00). Other dishes were Mixed Seafood Fried Rice (鱼子海鲜炒饭, RM12.00), Sweet & Sour Pork (咕噜肉, RM29.90), Chinese Tea (Pu Er 普洱茶, a pot for 3 pax, RM12.00). The total cost including 10% service charge (RM12.18) and 6% service tax (RM7.31) was RM141.30, paid by Wai Kit.
I bought a health monitoring watch Honor Choice Moecen Band for RM219.00 at The Hello Station of Lot No. T-229, The Gardens Mall before leaving Mid Valley City. We returned home at about 4.00pm.
