Morning Walk & Outing with Walking Buddies On Thursday, 18/01/2024

I woke up early at 7.00am by alarm clock in order to start my morning walk on Thu. 18/01/2024.  This was because I wanted to meet Danny Lau (who just relinquished the chairmanship of KRT Section 7 on 14/01/2024) who used to walk from 7.00am till 8.00am.

As I came out from house at 7.25am, I met Gan Boon Soon (of Jln. SL/4) who used to walk early too before 8.00am and took a selfie with him.  At about 7.40am, I met Danny and his friend Teng Lai (of Jln. SL7/17).

Only after bidding Danny’s farewell at Jln. 7/11 did I meet Goh boon Keong, his wife Tiu Sook Chin and Florence Lau at the junction.  We walked together and met Tang Chee Leong and his wife Lim Poh Suan on the other side of the road.

At 10.00am, Tang and Poh Suan came to pick up Soh Ai and I for a half-day outing in his car, while Goh and Sook Chin went in another car.

We initially wanted to savour Yong Tou Foo at Kedai Makan Ah Po (阿婆酿豆腐) and Ais Kacang (什雪) at Taman Seraya, Ampang  It was very difficult to find a parking space and as we noticed Kedai Makan Ah Po was closed, we decided to go to Taman Cheras to eat pork noodles instead.

At 11.00am, we arrived at Kui Lum Noodle House (桂林猪肉粉), Taman Cheras. We all took pork noodles (RM9 for a small bowl) and find it quite tasty.

At 11.40am, we adjourned to Restoran Lapo Dapo at Jalan Badam 9, Taman Rakyat, Kg. Cheras Baru for refreshment. We ordered 3 glasses of Hor Kah Sai Ice (big, each RM6.50), kopi ice (for Soh Ai, RM4.50) and 3 sets of butter kaya toast (each RM3.00. I foot the bill of RM33.00.

After that, we went to N.S. Food Processing at Kg. Cheras Baru to buy kuih and biscuits.  I bought 1 tin of  Kuah Kay Poh biscuit (RM20), Lomaichi (5 pcs of RM0.90 each but overcharged for 10 pcs, only realized at night), kuih kotak (RM2.50) and cake (RM2.00). Total RM33.50.  I also bought one tin of Chinese cookies (RM18.00).

At 2.00pm, we all went to Tang’s old house at 6th floor Pangsapuri Indah Mas, Taman Ikan Mas, Cheras as he left some medicine there to collect back.  We chit-chatted at his apartment for about an hour, before going for satay and ABC at Sate Kajang Hj. Samuri, Kajang.

At 4.15pm, we reached Kajang and Soh Ai and I had 10 sticks of sate ayam (each RM1.50) and 5 sticks of sate daging (each RM1.65), nasi impit besar (RM3.00), bawang (RM0.50) and 2 bowls of ABC (each RM4.50).

We returned home at 5.50pm.

In conclusion, all 6 of us had a jolly good time of companionship and enjoyed good food and beverage.

Half-day Trip to Bukit Bintang and TRX on January 13, 2024

TRX City Park -  rooftop park at The Exchange TRX

As suggested by Wai Kit, Soh Ai and I went along with him to go for a half-day trip downtown by MRT on Saturday, 13/01/2024.

We left home at 11.30am by car to MRT Station at Batu 11 Cheras and parked our car there. We took MRT to Bukit Bintang visited places like Lot 10, Farenheit 88, Eslite Spectrum and Pavilion, Bukit Bintang.

We had lunch at food court at LEvel 1 of Pavilion Elite. I found a stall called “Dubai” selling middle-east food very interesting and purposely took a selfie in front of the stall and sent to my friends jokingly saying “I’m also involved in Langkah Dubai”. But I chose to eat white curry mee at a nearby Penang Signature stall.  The ,mee was quite tasty and it cost RM17.90.

Later we had ice-cream blended drinks (vanilla/hazelnut/double chocolate) at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at Pavilion Bintang Circle.  3 glasses cost us (including 10% + 6% tax and service charge) RM60.30.

We left Bukit Bintang area by taking MRT to The Exchange TRX which is only one stop away.  This was my first visit and second visit for Soh Ai and Wai Kit.

I didn’t find this newly opened shopping mall any extraordinary compared to other existing ones  like MyTown, Pavilion etc.  The City Park is also similar to nearby LaLaport.

We left TRX at 5.40pm and took MRT back to Batu 11 Cheras. The train was initially packed when we boarded, but the passengers eased out after a few stations later.  We returned home at 6.10pm.
