Energy Bulb Warning

Warning from the British Ministry of Health about Energy Saving Bulbs.
.
These types of bulbs which are called Energy Saving or low Energy bulbs, if broken, cause serious danger! So much so, that if one breaks, everybody will have to leave the room for at least 15 minutes, because it contains Mercury (poisonous) which causes migraine, disorientation, imbalances and different other health problems, when inhaled.
.
It causes many people with allergies, severe skin conditions and other diseases just by touching this substance or inhaling it.
.
Also the Mnistry warned to NOT clean the debris of the broken bulb with a vacuum cleaner, because it would spread the contamination to other rooms in the house when using the vacuum cleaner again. It must be cleaned up with a normal broom or brush, be kept in a sealed bag and disposed of right away from the house in a bin for hazardous materials.
.
Notice: Mercury is dangerous, more poisonous than lead or arsenic!!!!

I-City of Digital Lights

The Blogger's Note:

I attended Selangor SGM's "Human Revolution, the Musical" with wife Soh Ai and eldest son Wai Kit in Klang last Saturday night, Dec. 18, 2010. On the way home after the concert, we noticed a place colourful lit with digital lights by the side of Federal Highway that impressed us a lot.

We decided to pay this place a visit and on the night of Christmas eve, Dec. 24, 2010, here we are, my wife and our 2 sons Wai Kit and Wai Kei (who happens to celebrate his birthday) and myself in this I-City of Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia with snap-shots taken by me.

A brief introduction of I-City:

i-City, one of the latest high-tech attractions of Malaysia, can best be described as an unconventional mix of Oriental style and the latest in lighting technology.

Located in the city of Shah Alam, i-City is a one-of-a-kind theme-park where all the main attractions are made of plastic and millions of bright LED lights. i-City’s artificial forest of maple and pine trees really comes to life at night. Made out of plastic and fitted with colorful LEDs, they put on a light show unlike any other.
.
Inaugurated in early 2010, Shah Alam‘s i-City has already become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Malaysia. From rows upon rows of LED-made Chinese lanterns, to LED peacocks, flamingos and LED cherry blossoms, i-City offers a variety of unique sights that are sure to amaze anyone who visits here.
.
Though nothing compares to the look and smell of real trees, the colorful display of i-City’s magical forest is proof of the wonderful things man can create if he puts his mind to it.
